Abstract
The unilateral problem of a circular geometrically non-linear plate which rests on an elastic foundation is investigated. Between the foundation and the plate there exists a connection with a given bounded ultimate (failure) tensile stress. Naturally, a rupture of the above-mentioned connection may occur beginning from some value of external forces and then in some region orregions the contact is destroyed and delamination phenomena (cracks) occur. In the regions of contact the reaction of the elastic foundation is determined by means of Winkler’s hypothesis. In the delamination zones no interaction between the plate and the foundation exists. This model of delamination (crack forming) process in a two-layered composite is investigated and some numerical results are given.
