Applications II: Failure Due to Random Vibration 1

Book cover Random Vibrations

Part of the book series: International Centre for Mechanical Sciences ((CISM,volume 115))

Abstract

We are interested in random vibration largely because of its ability to cause failure, and an obvious application of our response analysis is therefore to predict whether, under given conditions, failure will or will not occur. Such application is not as simple as might be expected, but we can certainly make some progress towards it.
