Abstract
The refurbishment of existing constructions (buildings and bridges) is today an emerging activity. It can be observed that the building industry is getting more and more devoted to these activities of consolidation, rehabilitation and modernisation of old buildings. (Mazzolani, 1986, 1990 a, b, 1992, 1994, 1996, 2000, 2001 b).
