Zusammenfassung
Polyneuropathien, bei Erkrankungen des peripheren Nervensystems vorkommend, zeigen oft uncharakteristische Beschwerdebilder. Als Beispiel sei hier die Polyneuropathie bei Diabetes mellitus, bei Erythromelalgie, bei Alkoholabusus, im Rahmen von Autoimmunerkrankungen, bei Nervenkompressionssyndromen (z. B. CTS – Druckschädigung des N. Medianus im Karpaltunnel), als Begleiterscheinung bei Chemotherapie und nach traumatischen Nervenschädigungen genannt. Wesentlich rascher, nämlich innerhalb von Tagen, entwickelt sich das Guillain-Barre-Syndrom; die Lähmung kann den ganzen Körper befallen. Hauptgefahren stellen die Lähmung der Atemmuskulatur sowie Herzrhythmusstörungen dar. Es kann wochenlange Betreuung auf der Intensivstation erforderlich sein. Beim komplexen regionalen Schmerzsyndrom (CRPS) handelt es sich um eine schmerzhafte Erkrankung, bestehend aus sensiblen, autonomen, motorischen und trophischen Störungen. Die Pathogenese ist noch nicht exakt geklärt.
