Zusammenfassung
Die Schizophrenie ist eine komplexe psychiatrische Erkrankung, welche durch verschiedene klinische Symptome bei den Patienten charakterisiert ist. Die Pathogenese ist bis dato ungeklärt jedoch gibt es neurobiologische Befunde, welche gute Hinweise für eine ZNS-Erkrankung liefern. Die Vielzahl von Untersuchungen zu den pathogenetischen Grundlagen, welche der schizophrenen Störung ursächlich zugrunde liegen hat eine Fülle von Detailkenntnissen erbracht; ein einheitliches Gesamtkonzept liegt jedoch heute erst in Ansätzen vor. Schließlich gibt die Komplexität und die Heterogenität bezüglich klinisch-epidemiologischer Erkrankungsaspekte als auch hinsichtlich der wissenschaftlichen Befunde immer wieder zu der Überlegung Anlass, ob ein einheitliches Krankheitsmodell überhaupt beibehalten werden soll oder ob es heuristisch sinnvoller ist, von einer pathogenetisch differentiellen Gruppe schizophrener Störungen auszugehen.
