Abstract
The remaining Ptolemaic papyri may be dealt with briefly, since the text which they offer does not differ significantly from the Vulgate. To the latter part of the second century B.C. belong Iliad P 18 (P. Fayum 4, P. Lit. Lond. 17), P 37 (P. Tebtunis 4), P 266 (P. Jouguet, ed. pr. Guéraud, Rev. de l’Ég. Ane. I, p. 130), P 270 (P. Tebtunis 899), P 271 (P. Tebtunis 900), Odyssey P 46 (ed. pr. Guéraud, op. cit. pp. 130f.); P 113 (ed. pr. Schwartz, BIFAO 64, 1954, p. 69) should probably be added to this list, though the date is slightly uncertain. Iliad P 18 has εὖ γὰρ ἐγώ[for εἰ γὰρ ὰγώ at Θ 366, which is almost certainly a slip, and η. [for οὐ at the beginning of Θ 369. Iliad P 37 is the earliest instance of a text with Aristarchean signs. Iliad P 270 is remarkable for the reading μεσσηγὺσ ποταμοῖο ∑ϰαμάνδρoυ ϰαὶ στoμαλίμνησ at Z 4, on which see pp. 72 f.
