Zusammenfassung

Die Unternehmen der 90er Jahre befinden sich in einem “Informationsdilemma”. Die Anforderungen an die Entscheidungsträger steigen rapide. Fehlentscheidungen können zahlreiche Arbeitsplätze oder sogar das gesamte Unternehmen gefährden. Die Entscheidungsträger sind sich dieser Verantwortung bewußt, Entscheidungen “aus dem hohlen Bauch” sind heute eine Seltenheit, in der Regel werden umfangreiche Informationsbestände konsultiert, bevor eine Entscheidung getroffen wird. Auf der anderen Seite steigen aber auch die Anforderungen an die Schnelligkeit von Entscheidungen. Für lange Entscheidungswege — von der Informationssammlung über die Informationsverdichtung bis hin zur Konsultation zahlreicher Experten — ist in den meisten Entscheidungssituationen nicht viel Zeit. Gefordert ist statt dessen ein Verhalten, bei dem schnell und flexibel auf neue Umweltzustände reagiert und entschieden wirdl.
