Abstract

Drug-drug interactions where gastric protecting drugs impair the absorption of simultaneously orally administered drugs are well known [1, 7, 9, 10, 12, 15]. However there is no general rule since only a lower absorption rate [8] or no obvious interaction [4] can sometimes be observed. Moreover, when drugs are not simultaneously administered but given in different chronological sequences, the occurrence of such a drug interaction could be modified [13].
