Zusammenfassung

Das Aufkommen von Euronote-Fazilitäten und ECPProgrammen, vor allem aber ihre explosionsartige Volumenentwicklung, kann man nur vor dem Hintergrund der großen Trends an den internationalen Finanzmärkten verstehen. Auf diesen Märkten hat sich nämlich in den letzten Jahren ein geradezu revolutionärer Wandel vollzogen, der als „Globalisierung der Finanzmärkte“1) bezeichnet wird. Dieser Oberbegriff umfaßt drei parallel verlaufende Entwicklungen: “Firstly, international financial integration; secondly, the multiplicity of financial innovations; thirdly, the phenomenon of securitisation”.2) Aus diesen Trends resultierte eine Verwischung bislang klar definierter Abgrenzungen:

  1. “a)

    between different kinds of financial assets in the international and domestic markets

  2. b)

    between financial institutions and even

  3. c)

    between financial intermediation and the securities markets.”3)
