Zusammenfassung
Die Beurteilung der Absatzentwicklung umfaßt neben der in der Regel im Vordergrund stehenden Absatzprognose auch die subjektive und objektive Wertung der Absatzentwicklung im Marktkontext. Das bedeutet, daß neben der Entwicklung der reinen Absatzzahlen der Unternehmung auch die Entwicklung des Marktvolumens, die Marktanteilsentwicklung und die Entwicklung der Konkurrenz, die Entwicklung der Kaufkraft bei Konsumgütern bzw. die Entwicklung der Abnehmerbranche bei Investitionsgütern prognostiziert werden muß.128 Gleichzeitig müssen die Absatzzahlen aber auch in einen Kontext mit Produkterlösen und Kosten gebracht werden, um über den wirtschaftlichen Erfolg eines Produktes zu urteilen.129 Schließlich ist zusätzlich auch auf die strategisch bedeutsame Bearbeitung von Geschäftsfeldern, auf komplementäre Wirkungen des Absatzes auf andere Güter und ähnliches zu achten.

Modellen usw. innerhalb eines bestimmten Zeitabschnittes erfaßt. Die in einem bestimmten vorgegebenen Zeitraum erzielten Absatzzahlen werden für das gesamte Verkaufsgebiet hochgerechnet. Für die Prognose der Absatzentwicklung im Zeitablauf werden Referenzreihen hinzugezogen. (interne Angaben von Neckermann)
