Abstract

Although the issue of women’s status in Turkey has been on the Turkish political agenda since the establishment of the Turkish Republic and on the academic agenda since the 1940s, the 1980s holds a particular place within today’s Turkish feminist consciousness. It was specifically during this period that issues concerning women came to be discussed and analyzed for women by women.
