Zusammenfassung
Unsere Forschung steht nicht unter dem Vorzeichen des Erkenntnisgewinns zur Thematik der neuronalen Repräsentation von Raum und Zeit. Wenn wir dennoch im Rahmen unserer Studien zur Neuroplastizität des limbo-präfrontalen Systems dazu einen Beitrag zu leisten vermögen, so beruht das auf der generell anerkannten Annahme, daß es eben dieses System ist, welches die formalen Voraussetzungen zur räumlichen und zeitlichen Strukturierung von Verhalten auf höchster Ebene erbringt. Dafür sind zwei auf den ersten Blick scheinbar sich widersprechende Eigenschaften des limbo-präfrontalen Systems verantwortlich: Einerseits ist es ein stabiler und streng determinierter Schaltplan und andererseits eine diesem System eigene höchst spezifische neuronale Dynamik (=Neuroplastizität). Beide Aspekte, die strukturelle Determinierung und die Fähigkeit zu anhaltendem Wandel, garantieren auf eine bis heute nicht verstandene Weise eine auf den Menschen zugeschnittene Wahrnehmung von Raum und von Zeit.
