Zusammenfassung
Das Medium Computer ist mittlerweile allgegenwärtig. In Schulen, Universitäten, Betrieben ist der Computer zu einem unverzichtbaren Hilfsmittel geworden. Auch die stets wachsende Zahl von Softwareangeboten kann als ein Indikator für den Boom dieses Technologiebereiches gewertet werden. „Allein mit elektronischen Publikationen auf CD-ROM — Büchern, Nachschlagewerken, Spielfilmen, Lernprogrammen usw. — wurden 1993 in Deutschland 136 Mio. DM umgesetzt, neun mal so viel wie 1989“ (Issing & Klimsa, 1995, S.1). Ein Bereich der in diesem Zusammenhang immer mehr in den Mittelpunkt des Interesses rückt sind Computerlernprogramme. Vor allem die Frage nach dem „Sinn und Unsinn“ von Lernsoftware — also welche Art von Computersoftware für welche Lerner mit welchen Voraussetzungen wie effektiv ist — sind Forschungsfragen, die trotz des zunehmenden Angebotes an Lernsoftware immer noch nicht befriedigend beantwortet sind.
