Abstract

Explicit suggestions to the effect that the structures, bonding and reactivities of unsaturated ligands in homogeneous complexes could be related to those occurring at catalytic surfaces are fairly recent although the possible overlaps have formed an implicit motivation for much longer standing studies in homogeneous transition metal chemistry.
