Zusammenfassung

Die erste Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts hat für eine große Anzahl von Städten in den USA und Kanada eine Entwicklung bedeutet, die in allen Teilbereichen der Stadtregion zu unübersehbaren Mißständen geführt hat. Alle Gebiete vom Stadtkern bis hin zu den äußersten Rändern städtischer Überbauung zeigten sich im Sinne des in Amerika viel gebrauchten Wortes „blight“ als in irgendeiner Weise von Krankheiten befallen.
