Zusammenfassung
Das Interesse an der Rolle der Familie bei der Schizophrenie hat bisher in etwa einen biphasischen Verlauf genommen Auf die Euphorie in den 50er und 60er Jahren folgte in den 70er Jahren eine pessimistische Einstellung. Wir befinden uns hoffentlich jetzt in einer euthymen Phase, in der einige Aspekte, die in der Vergangenheit stark mit Emotionen beladen waren, nun distanziert betrachtet werden können. Zwei wichtige Aspekte bezüglich der Rolle der Familie bei der Schizophrenie verdienen weiterhin unsere Aufmerksamkeit. Erstens: Gibt es Beweise dafür, daß Streßsituationen spezifischer oder unspezifischer Art innerhalb der Familie dem Ausbruch der Schizophrenie vorhergehen und eine Rolle bei der Entwicklung der Krankheit spielen? Und zweitens: Beeinflussen nach Ausbruch der Schizophrenie spezielle Merkmale der familiären Umgebung den kurzfristigen Verlauf der Krankheit?
