Zusammenfassung
Während die meisten Menschen eine Führungsposition mit Erfahrung, Weisheit und Reife verbinden, sieht die Realität in vielen Unternehmen inzwischen anders aus: Immer häufiger werden die Mitarbeitenden von Führungskräften und Vorgesetzten angeleitet, die deutlich jünger als sie selbst sind. Dies kann problematisch für beide Seiten sein. Wissenschaftliche Theorien gehen z. B. davon aus, dass hieraus eine Verletzung gesellschaftlicher und organisationaler Normen resultiert, die mit negativen Folgen sowohl für Mitarbeitende als auch für Führungskräfte verbunden sein können. Die bisherige Datenlage zu dieser Frage ist allerdings noch eher spärlich. In diesem Kapitel gehen wir den Gründen für diese eher skeptischen Annahmen genauer nach. Zudem stellen wir neue Messinstrumente sowie konkrete Handlungsempfehlungen und Fallbeispiele vor, die sowohl den jungen Führungskräften als auch den Personalverantwortlichen in Unternehmen, die junge Vorgesetzte auf die kommende Führungsaufgabe vorbereiten, dabei helfen können, Probleme der Jung-führt-Alt Konstellation zu erkennen und – idealer Weise – dann auch zu vermeiden.
