Zusammenfassung
Durch die Digitalisierung von Daten und deren Vernetzung entstehen neue Formen der Kommunikation zwischen Menschen, zwischen Mensch und Technik sowie zwischen Arbeitsmitteln und Arbeitsgegenständen (Hacker 2016). Das führt zu einem Wandel der Arbeit, durch den sowohl Arbeitsinhalte betroffen sind (z. B. ist jede Arbeitsanforderung, die mithilfe eines Algorithmus umsetzbar ist, auch digitalisierbar und damit an Technik übertragbar) als auch deren Organisation und Kontextbedingungen, z. B. örtlich-zeitliche Flexibilisierung der Arbeit (Rau und Hoppe 2020). Aktuell verstärkt sich ein Trend, Entscheidungen und Verantwortlichkeiten zu dezentralisieren und vom höheren Management auf Arbeitsgruppen und zum Teil auf einzelne Beschäftigte zu übertragen. Besonders typische Beispiele der Arbeitsorganisation hierfür sind die indirekte Steuerung (Kratzer und Dunkel 2013) und agile Arbeitsformen (Adam 2020). Bei der indirekten Steuerung der Leistungen von Arbeitenden wird nur das zu erreichende Ergebnis der Arbeit vorgegeben, während der Weg, wie das Ergebnis erreicht wird, den Arbeitenden selbst überlassen wird (Mustafić et al. 2023; Peters 2011). Bei agilen Arbeitsformen soll über diese Ergebnisorientierung hinaus das Unternehmen befähigt werden, sich proaktiv und schnell an Veränderungen, z. B. neue Kundenwünsche oder Marktbedingungen, anzupassen und mit Unsicherheit und daraus entstehenden ungeplanten Situationen umzugehen (Adam 2020; Hofert 2016). Da es weder in der betrieblichen Praxis noch in der Wissenschaft ein einheitliches Verständnis davon gibt, was Agilität genau bedeutet (Adam 2020), orientiert sich dieser Beitrag am agilen Manifest zur Gestaltung agiler Arbeitsformen (Beck et al. 2001, ). Obwohl dieses für die Softwareentwicklung formuliert wurde, bilden die Prinzipien und Werte des Manifests den Ausgangspunkt des heutigen Verständnisses von Agilität und werden u. a. in den Arbeitsmethoden SCRUM (Schwaber und Sutherland 2020, ) und Extreme Programming (Beck 2000) genutzt.
