Abstract
February 2015, Mazar-e-Sharif, Afghanistan. The German field hospital is running normally, it is a quiet time with few attacks or fighting and there are no patients in intensive care, when a request for help is made from the civilian to the military leadership. The team of the field hospital then takes over treatment of a small girl with a severe head injury, for which nothing could be done in the local Afghan hospital. For over 6 weeks, the interdisciplinary medical team works together with specialists at home to fight its way back to life—the story of Farzana.
