In diesem Kapitel wird erläutert, was körperliche Aktivität (KA) ist und wie sie sich von anderen Bewegungsformen (z. B. sportliche Aktivität, sportliches Training) abgrenzt. Weiterhin werden unterschiedliche Arten von körperlichen Aktivitäten skizziert. Es folgt eine Erläuterung, warum und durch welche Mechanismen körperliche Aktivität gesundheitsstärkend wirkt.
