Abstract

The chapter on the rights and duties of health professionals during a pandemic focuses on doctors, nurses and other health professionals describes the dilemmas that may arise between the obligations to assist, the public expectation towards health professionals and their right to own safety and welfare. While most health professionals have a dedication to service, they should not be forced to work in situations that may incapacitate them. Structural deficits in our healthcare systems provide the ground for many avoidable dilemmas.
