Wir wollen uns nun mit der Abbildung von Strukturen beschäftigen, deren Größen im Bereich der Auflösungsgrenze des Transmissionselektronenmikroskops liegen. Die Atomabstände in den Kristallgittern sind in dieser Größenordnung. Auch die Untersuchung von Korngrenzen und anderen Grenzflächen auf atomarer Skala gehört dazu. Wir wollen aber auch die Effekte bedenken, die bei der hochvergrößerten und hochaufgelösten Abbildung amorpher Materialien auftreten.
