Abstract

In this chapter, we provide a brief overview of observations of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) and conclusions drawn from the data. Many years have passed since the first measurement in 1965 to the latest data from Planck, during which the CMB analysis has developed into the sharpest tool for exploring the early cosmos.
