Abstract

An important source of information about the composition of the universe’s matter budget is the evaluation of supernova explosions. They significantly contributed to proving the accelerated expansion of the universe and quantifying the amount of dark energy. In this chapter, we explain how a detailed redshift-distance relationship can provide information about the acceleration parameter.
