Zusammenfassung

Die vergangenen zwei Jahrzehnte haben deutlich Veränderungen in der Kommunikationsweise der Menschen weltweit gebracht. China ist an dieser globalen Entwicklung auf vielfältige Weise beteiligt. Zum einen in der Rolle als „verlängerte Werkbank“, also des ausführenden Produzenten der Smartphones für Hersteller wie Apple. Zum anderen in der Rolle eines großen Abnehmers von Hard- und Software. In diesem Zusammenhang hat sich die chinesische Wirtschaft sukzessive vom reinen Auftragsfertiger hin zu eigener Innovationsfähigkeit weiterentwickelt. Parallel dazu sind auf der Grundlage der technischen Weiterentwicklung neue Dienstleistungen möglich geworden. In diesem Beitrag wird die Entwicklung des mobilen Internets an drei Beispielen erläutert: 1. die Entwicklung der informellen Shanzhai-Ökonomie, 2. die Entstehung der chinesischen Mobilfunkunternehmen am Beispiel Huaweis und 3. die regionalen Auswirkungen neuer Dienstleistungen auf der Grundlage der Internetnutzung am Beispiel der Taobao-Dörfer.
