Zusammenfassung

Die Onkologie hat immer palliative Therapien durchgeführt. Viele Chemotherapien und weitere systemische Therapieansätze wurden und werden überwiegend im lokal fortgeschrittenen oder besonders im metastasierten Stadium durchgeführt. Was ist kurativ, was ist palliativ? Zuletzt hat sich gezeigt, dass eine frühe Integration von Palliative Care die Lebensqualität von Krebspatienten deutlich verbessert, bei manchen lebensverlängernd wirkt. In diesem Kapitel wird herausgearbeitet, welche Denkweisen und Strukturen für eine Frühintegration erforderlich sind. Es werden Modelle zur Implementierung von Palliative Care in die Onkologie dargestellt. Ein weiterer Schlüssel zu einer guten Versorgungsqualität ist die vorausschauende Planung.
