Selbstschädigung und Suizidalität vor und nach Adipositaschirurgie

Zusammenfassung

Bisherige Untersuchungen von Patienten vor Adipositaschirurgie haben gezeigt, dass mehr als die Hälfte im Laufe ihres Lebens bereits direktes oder indirektes selbstschädigendes Verhalten angewendet haben. Allerdings scheint sich die Lebenszeitprävalenz von Selbstschädigung bei Patienten vor Adipositaschirurgie nicht von der bei anderen Personen mit Adipositas Grad 2/3 zu unterscheiden. Aktuelle Studienergebnisse legen eine Zunahme selbstschädigender Verhaltensweisen, einschließlich Suizidversuche, nach Adipositaschirurgie nahe. Die meisten Längsschnittbefunde zu Selbstschädigung und Suiziden rekurrieren auf Gesundheitsregisterangaben zu stationären Aufnahmen, Notfalleinsätzen oder anderen medizinischen Behandlungen. Die tatsächliche Inzidenz von selbstschädigenden postoperativen Verhaltensweisen wurde noch nicht systematisch gemessen. Gleichwohl verdeutlichen die bisherigen Befunde die Notwendigkeit einer geschärften Wahrnehmung von selbstschädigenden Verhaltensweisen und Suizidalität bei Patienten vor und nach Adipositaschirurgie.
