Abstract

Differential calculus has numerous applications in engineering mathematics. Among these many applications, some are familiar from school days, such as the evaluation of monotonicity and convexity or concavity, or the determination of local extrema. We also discuss a method for determining limit values, namely L’Hospital’s rule.
