Abstract
Football (soccer) has one of the highest injury risk and incidence among team sports. Epidemiological studies are important to evaluate the effectiveness of preventive strategies and post-injury organizational interventions. With these data, researchers and medical staff are able to focus on injuries that require more time and resources.
Furthermore, it has been noted that a lower incidence and greater availability of players are associated with a higher probability of winning, especially in European competitions.
