Abstract
Human beings inhale air from the atmosphere. The air consists of oxygen, nitrogen, but also of carbon dioxide with a concentration of 0.038% Vol., as allready mentioned. In the exhaled air is missing 4% Vol. oxygen, but there appear 4% Vol. carbon dioxide. The combustion of the food ingested therefore needs oxygen, and because every type of human food contains carbon, this also results in carbon dioxide.
