Abstract
No one has ever encountered Public Opinion, and yet it has a beneficial or destructive effect on social contexts and constellations. For understanding “collective forgiveness”, its structure and dynamics are crucial: As an ideational court, it works relentlessly within us and across entire groups. Those who wish to understand forgiveness must address its structural undercurrents.
