Abstract
The Plaintiff-freight forwarder, China Transport Groupage International Limited brought this case against the Defendant-shipper, Forshan Jehong Logistics Co., Ltd. (Forshan) to recover the detention charges it paid at the port of Alger for failure of the consignee to accept delivery of four containers of ceramic tiles. These containers were consequently detained by customs at the port. The Defendant issued a letter of guarantee to the Plaintiff before booking and guaranteed to bear all economic losses or responsibilities caused by improper description of goods, shortages, and losses.
