Zusammenfassung
Die Entwöhnung von der Beatmung beginnt mit dem ersten Spontanatmungsversuch und endet mit der Extubation. Eine Entwöhnung ist erfolgreich, wenn der Patient für mindestens 48 h nach der Extubation keine ventilatorische Unterstützung benötigt. Durch Einsatz standardisierter Weaningprotokolle kann die Dauer der maschinellen Beatmung verkürzt werden.
