Zusammenfassung
Erläutert werden die klassischen Grundrhythmusformen (physiologische EEG-Typen, \({> }\,90\) %) und ihre Aufteilung nach der Frequenz (\(\upalpha\), \(\upbeta\)) im Lichte ihrer Häufigkeiten in der Bevölkerung. Wichtige Varianten des Grundrhythmus ohne Krankheitswert (z. B. langsame 4\(/\)s Varianten) wie auch physiologische hirnregionale Besonderheiten (wie \(\upmu\)-, \(\uptheta\)- und \(\uplambda\)-Wellen) sind zur Abgrenzung dargestellt und das „Niederspannungs-EEG“ (Inzidenz bis zu 9 %) wird erläutert. Die hochfrequenten \(\upgamma\)-Frequenzen werden wegen bislang geringer klinischer Bedeutung kurz dargestellt. Mit der im klinischen Kontext eminent wichtigen Abgrenzung der steilen Potentialabläufe ohne Krankheitswert von den epilepsietypischen Potentialen schließt dieses Kapitel.
