Zusammenfassung

Der Nutzen von sportlicher Aktivtität, sowohl zur Prävention, als auch zur Therapie kardiovaskulärer Erkrankungen wurde eindeutig bewiesen. Vor Aufnahme eines Trainings, insbesondere bei kardiovaskulärem Risikoprofil, sowie kardialen Erkrankungen sind daher eine Risikostratifizierung sowie ausführliche kardiologische Untersuchungen zu empfehlen. Abhängig von der zugrunde liegenden Pathologie sollten spezifische Trainingsempfehlungen routinemäßig als Teil der Therapie verschrieben werden. Da Sport auch Trigger eines plötzlichen Herztods sein kann, durchlaufen auch Athleten und Wettkampfsportler jährliche Screeninguntersuchungen, um Sportler mit erhöhtem Risiko oder asymptomatischer Erkrankung zu identifizieren. Physiologische Adaptationen im Sinne eines Sportherzens, sind bei Ausdauersportlern zu beobachten. Derartige strukturelle Veränderungen können jedoch auch einen Graubereich darstellen und sollten daher im Kontext aller erhobenen Befunde differenzialdiagnostisch bewertet werden.
