Zusammenfassung
Soziale und ökologische Verantwortung von Unternehmen ist unlängst zentraler Bestandteil der öffentlichen und gesellschaftlichen Diskussion. Aber auch in der wissenschaftlichen Diskussion findet das Thema Bedeutung. Der Begriff Corporate Social Responsibility stellt dabei den übergeordneten Ausgangspunkt für das Themenfeld unternehmerische Verantwortung dar. Darauf aufbauend haben sich Konzepte – wie Creating Shared Value nach Porter und Kramer – entwickelt, um die Beziehung zwischen ökonomischem und gesellschaftlichem Erfolg zu untersuchen. Dieser Zusammenhang kann als Doing Well by Doing Good beschrieben werden, wodurch eine positive Wirkung von sozialen und ökologischen Aktivitäten auf den ökonomischen Wert hervorgehoben wird. Gleichzeitig wird dabei aber auch die Notwendigkeit von unternehmerischer Verantwortung für den Unternehmenserfolg unterstrichen. Auf Basis dieses Verständnisses sind weitere Ansätze – wie Conscious Capitalism nach Mackey und Sisodia – entstanden. Aufgrund der zunehmenden Relevanz stößt die aktuelle gesellschaftliche und wissenschaftliche Diskussion auch bei Hidden Champions auf Interesse. Daran schließt sich häufig auch eine intensive Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema, aber auch mit Konzepten und Ansätzen zur Umsetzung von unternehmerischer Verantwortung an.
