Zusammenfassung

Es ist ganz normal, dass sich Betroffene fragen, wieso gerade sie erkrankt sind und sich dabei Fragen stellen wie „Habe ich etwas falsch gemacht?“, „Kann man der Entstehung vorbeugen?“, „Gibt es Umwelteinflüsse oder genetische Faktoren?“, und „Ist es einfach nur mein Schicksal oder habe ich ein höheres Erkrankungsrisiko als andere?“

Für die Entstehung der Dupuytrenkrankheit spielen verschiedene Einflüsse eine Rolle. Neben der Vererbung, die aber nur die Wahrscheinlichkeit erhöht die Krankheitssymptome zu entwickeln, spielt das Alter eine Rolle, aber auch zum Beispiel Verletzungen („Traumata“) können die Krankheit auslösen. Nachdem die Dupuytren-Krankheit und ihre Entstehung noch nicht vollständig verstanden sind, wird bei einigen Faktoren der Zusammenhang mit der Dupuytren-Krankheit nur vermutet, weil sie gemeinsam auftreten.
