Fehler in der Rechtschreibung und Zeichensetzung müssen bei wörtlichen Zitaten beibehalten werden. Auf Fehler sollte man durch ein in eckige Klammern gesetztes und nach dem Fehler in das Zitat eingefügtes [sic!] aufmerksam machen. So wird deutlich gemacht, dass es sich nicht um eine Nachlässigkeit von Ihnen handelt. Auslassungen werden durch drei Punkte kenntlich gemacht werden. Anführungszeichen innerhalb eines direkten Zitats werden durch einfache Anführungszeichen (z. B. „… ‚lorem ipsum lorem ipsum‘ …“) ersetzt.
