Zusammenfassung

Die Messung der Gonadotropine und des Testosterons im Serum, des SHBG und des berechneten freien Testosterons spielen eine zentrale Rolle in der endokrinen Diagnostik des männlichen Hypogonadismus und der Infertilität. Zu den weiteren Hormonbestimmungen gehören die spezifischen Marker für die Funktion der Sertoli-Zellen (Inhibin B, Anti-Müller-Hormon) und der Leydig-Zellen (Insulin-like-factor 3). Dynamische Testverfahren wie der GnRH-und der hCG-Test sind für die Evaluierung der hypophysären und testikulären Reservekapazität nützlich. In speziellen Fällen ergänzen die Techniken der Molekular-Biologie die endokrinologische Diagnostik.
