Zusammenfassung
Von den etwa 36.000 beschriebenen Arten der Plathelminthes (Plattwürmer) leben ca. 90 % parasitisch. Sie warden nach morphologischen und molekularbiologischen Kriterien in die beiden monophyletischen Taxa der Rhabditophora und der Catenulida eingeordnet. Als Neodermata wird eine Teilgruppe innerhalb der Rhabditophora bezeichnet, die als Endoparasiten im Wirt eine neue Haut (Neodermis) bilden.
