Zusammenfassung
Kenntnisse zum Strahlenschutz sind Voraussetzung im Umgang mit oder für die Indikationsstellung zur Anwendung ionisierender Strahlen. Das gilt einerseits für Kinderchirurgen, die im Rahmen von Operationen selbst Strahlung an Kindern anwenden (Bildwandler/Durchleuchtung im OP), es gilt aber auch für die Indikationsstellung zu bildgebenden Maßnahmen mittels konventionellem Röntgen oder Computertomographie. Besondere Relevanz hat das Wissen um Strahlenexposition und -schutz auch im Umgang mit den Eltern, die der Applikation von ionisierenden Strahlen für ihr Kind häufig zu (un-)kritisch gegenüberstehen.
