Zusammenfassung
Erkrankungen der Kopf- und Halsregion schließen eine Vielzahl von Entitäten ein und betreffen Kinder unterschiedlichsten Alters. Dazu zählen geburtstraumatische Verletzungen wie das Kephalhämatom, das Ankyloglosson des Säuglings und die angeborenen (Epi-)Dermoidzysten sowie Kiemengangsanomalien, die sich bevorzugt im Kleinkindalter manifestieren. Die Lymphadenitis colli ist eine häufige Diagnose im Kleinkindalter, wenn respiratorische Infekte vermehrt auftreten. Kraniosynostosen und zunehmend auch lagerungsbedingte Schädeldeformitäten spielen im pädiatrischen Alltag immer wieder eine Rolle und sind häufig mit einer großen Unsicherheit der Eltern verbunden. Die Otapostasis hat als leichte Form der Ohrmuscheldysplasie per se keinen Krankheitswert, kann aber bereits im Grundschulalter einen Leidensdruck erzeugen, der einen operativen Eingriff rechtfertigt. Hier kommt dem Kinder- und Jugendarzt als Vertrauensperson eine besondere Rolle zu. Die klinische Präsentation eines Hydrozephalus variiert in Abhängigkeit vom Alter des Kindes bzw. seinem Fontanellenschluss. Eine rasche Diagnose und adäquate Behandlung durch den Kinderneurochirurgen sind von Relevanz, um den Krankheitsverlauf günstig zu beeinflussen. Hier steht der Kinder- und Jugendarzt im Zentrum des interdisziplinären Teams.
