Injury and Health Risk Management in Sports

Abstract

The treatment of pathologies of the shoulder and elbow joint in athletes is challenging. A wide variety of pathologies, depending on sports type, are observed. Many parameters have to be considered in order to achieve a satisfactory result and return to competition in different sports. Modern operative techniques are available to treat structural lesions in case of failed conservative therapy. A well-planned postoperative rehabilitation plays a crucial role in the success of an operation.
