Abstract

The mastery of technical complexity is a core task in engineering. We show how complex problems can be transformed first into complicated and later into obvious tasks. We discuss the additional task of dealing with complexity of human behavior. In a kind of synthesis we then explore mastering the complexity associated with the development of modern mass production products, which is decisive for long-term market success.
