Zusammenfassung
Nachdem sich die Forschung zur Emotionsregulation (ER) lange Zeit vorwiegend auf eine individuelle Untersuchungsebene beschränkt hatte (vgl. Gross 2007), entstand die Forderung, soziale Aspekte der ER stärker zu berücksichtigen (Butler und Gross 2009; Rimé 2009). Unter der Annahme, dass hierbei nicht nur die Dyade (siehe Kap. 10), sondern auch das weitere soziale Umfeld von Bedeutung ist, soll das vorliegende Kapitel aufzeigen, an welchen Stellen die Einbeziehung des sozialen Netzwerks für die ER-Forschung gewinnbringend sein könnte. Im Anschluss an eine kurze Definition des Begriffs „soziales Netzwerk“ soll im vorliegenden Kapitel zunächst beschrieben werden, welcher Zusammenhang zwischen individueller bzw. interpersoneller ER und der Einbindung im sozialen Netzwerk besteht. Im zweiten Teil des Kapitels soll näher betrachtet werden, welche Möglichkeiten der ER soziale Netzwerke bieten.
