Zusammenfassung

Diagenese ist die Summe aller Prozesse, durch welche aus Lockersedimenten verfestigte Sedimentgesteine werden. Diese Prozesse sind physikalischer, chemischer und biologischer Natur; sie verändern die mineralogische Zusammensetzung der Sedimentpartikel, ihre Textur und Anordnung im Sediment sowie insbesondere die Porosität und Permeabilität der Ablagerungen.
