Zusammenfassung
Neuropsychologische Beeinträchtigungen bei Epilepsie haben eine hohe Prävalenz, sind oftmals schon zu Beginn der Epilepsie feststellbar und können durch verschiedene personen-, krankheits- und behandlungsbezogene Einflussfaktoren bedingt sein. Das Kernziel der Neuropsychologie besteht darin, Leistung im Krankheitskontext zu erfassen, sie im Verlauf zu überwachen und bewahren zu helfen. Neben ihrer traditionellen Rolle im Bereich der prächirurgischen Epilepsiediagnostik hat sich die Neuropsychologie generell als nützliches Werkzeug zur Qualitäts- und individuellen Ergebniskontrolle medizinischer Interventionen bei Epilepsie etabliert. Eine Indikation zur neuropsychologischen Untersuchung besteht, wenn die Beantwortung der klinischen Fragestellung eine relevante Konsequenz für den Patienten, den diagnostischen Prozess oder das Behandlungskonzept haben kann. Ein praktikabler und zeitökonomischer Untersuchungsansatz ist die fragestellungsspezifische evidenzbasierte modulare Testdiagnostik.
