Zusammenfassung
Reflexepilepsien sind dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die epileptischen Anfälle stereotyp und in sehr engem zeitlichem Zusammenhang mit einem Reiz (sensorisch, motorisch oder komplex) auftreten; diese Epilepsiesyndrome sind insgesamt selten. Der häufigste Auslöser von reflektorischen Anfällen ist das Flackerlicht, das aber von Patienten in seiner Häufigkeit und Relevanz deutlich überschätzt wird. Die Pathophysiologie von Anfällen im Rahmen von Reflexepilepsien erlaubt – im Gegensatz zu unprovozierten Anfällen – oft Rückschlüsse auf die komplexen, miteinander kommunizierenden Systeme im ZNS. Die Therapie ist heterogen, besteht aber oft in der Vermeidung der Auslöser oder in der Abmilderung des Reizes, z. B. durch den Einsatz von speziellen Brillen bei fotosensiblen Anfällen.
