Zusammenfassung
Die frühzeitige Diagnosestellung einer mit Tuberöse-Sklerose-Komplex (TSC) assoziierten Epilepsie ist entscheidend, um die entsprechende Behandlung rasch einzuleiten und somit neurokognitiven Defiziten, insbesondere bei jüngeren Patienten, vorzubeugen. Das EEG stellt einen wichtigen Biomarker für das spätere Auftreten einer Epilepsie dar. Die Behandlung mit Vigabatrin kann auch bei Kindern mit subklinischen EEG-Auffälligkeiten in Erwägung gezogen werden. Die Zusatztherapie mit Everolimus bei pharmakoresistenter TSC-assoziierter Epilepsie nimmt an Bedeutung zu. Die epilepsiechirurgische Frühintervention ist bei geeigneten Kandidaten indiziert, um höhere Chancen auf postoperative Anfallsfreiheit zu gewährleisten. Die Behandlung der TSC-Patienten ist anspruchsvoll und setzt aufgrund der Multiorganerkrankung eine interdisziplinäre Betreuung an einem mit TSC erfahrenen Zentrum voraus.
