Zusammenfassung

Die 24/7 Mentalität des „rund um die Uhr verfügbar sein“ ignoriert fundamentale biologische Grundsätze wie die menschlichen Bedürfnisse nach Erholung, Ruhe und ausreichendem Schlaf. Schichtarbeit, Jetlag und das Phänomen Sekundenschlaf veranschaulichen mit aller Deutlichkeit die gesundheitlichen Risiken, die sich daraus entwickeln: Nachtarbeit und Jetlag entkoppeln chronobiologische Rhythmen von äußeren, natürlichen Zeitzyklen (z. B. Hell- Dunkelwechsel). Über Jahre entstehen so schwerwiegende gesundheitliche Risiken. Die Folgen, wie Müdigkeit und Erschöpfung wirken anfänglich harmlos. Denn dagegen helfen starker Kaffee und die Wachmacher Angebote aus dem Internet. Stimulantien und Amphetamine schaffen jedoch hypervigilante Zustände und steigern nicht die Leistungsfähigkeit, wie Krankheitsbilder mit der Kernsymptomatik Hypervigilanz zeigen. Um fit und leistungsfähig zu sein, helfen einfache und natürliche Dinge: ausreichender Schlaf und eine effiziente Pausengestaltung.
